Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will have no objection if the Disciplinary Committee allows Shahid Afridi to be assisted by his counsel during the disciplinary proceedings. A spokesman of PCB, in response to certain reports in a section of media says PCB will have no objection if the Disciplinary Committee allows Shahid Afridi to be assisted/represented by his counsel during the Disciplinary proceedings.
The spokesman said that the PCB reiterates to provide fair and just opportunity to Shahid Afridi to present his defence with regard to violations of the Central Contract and PCB Code of Conduct," it said. The counsel of Afridi said on Monday that Afridi will not appear before the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) disciplinary committee on charges of violating the code of conduct. It may be noted that the PCB summoned Afridi to appear before a three-man disciplinary committee, after the former one-day captain abruptly decided to retire from international cricket last week.
