The government has not made any allocation for the federal ministry of food and agriculture this year as under the 18th Amendment the ministry is being transferred to provinces. Last year the government had allocated Rs 26.4 billion for the sector, which was reduced to Rs 12.26 billion after massive cuts in PSDP due to devastating floods and huge expenditures on war against terror.
Last year, Rs 12 billion were allocated for ongoing developmental schemes in agriculture sector across the country, which was reduced to Rs 11 billion. Last year, employees related expenses were given Rs 140 million, out of which Rs 67 million were for salaries of officials and Rs 37 million for salaries of other staff.
