Apropos to a news item published in Business Recorder on June 3, 2011 captioned as "LCCI concerned over PTCL officials' inefficiency," Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) has clarified that there was a heavy break down of underground cables at Badami Bagh on the night of June 01, 2011 at Chowk Peco Road due to digging by Traffic Engineering and Planning Authority (TEPA) for laying sewerage pipeline.
PTCL further clarified that 18 underground cables of different capacities and 2 Optical Fiber cables were damaged badly. The RGM North and SM Development visited the site on June 02, 2011 along with office-bearers of Anjuman Tajiran Auto Parts Badami Bagh Lahore including Waqar Ahmad Mian, President and Izhar Fareed Mughal, General Secretary. They showed concerns on negligence on the part of TEPA and contacted Director TEPA for this huge negligence on part of their contractor. The PTCL network has been restored in that area now.-PR
