Business community has expressed dismay over the Federal Budget, saying that the government has failed to give any relief to people of the country. Addressing a press conference after federal budget, President Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) Ali Raza Saeed Shah has rejected the tiny federal budget 2011-12, saying that it would multiply suffering of the poor masses.
Shah said that it would be too early to comment on the budget, as things will be clearer after the announced of the detailed budget by the government. Ali Raza said that it was a shortest budget speech made by any minister in the history of the Country and the points discussed in the said speech are not acceptable for the business community specially imposition of taxes on the products which were exempted in the past, eg, textile, packed milk, shoes, etc.
He said that RCCI will wait the details of the budget and then it will announce its future course of action. President RCCI said that budget had nothing for the poor and no relief was announced for masses in the speech. He further said that bringing the 450 tax exempted products in the tax net will further increase prices of the commodities in the country.
