Activity at Karachi and Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 129,119 tonnes of cargo including 106,227 tonnes of import cargo, 22,892 tonnes of export cargo and 2,402 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Thursday. The total import cargo of 106,227 tonnes comprised of 15,700 tonnes of containerised cargo; 6,124 tonnes of general cargo; 7,158 tonnes of bulk cargo: 1,629 tonnes of wheat; 1,105 tonnes of rock phosphate; 4,424 tonnes of canola seeds and 77,245 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 22,892 tonnes comprised of 9,581 tonnes of containerised cargo; 31 tonnes of general cargo; 13,280 tonnes of bulk cargo: 3,777 tonnes of cement and 9,503 tonnes of wheat. Seven ships namely Lodestar Genesis, Masar Trade, Christina, Paimpol, Samin-1, Hyundai Discovery and APL Spinel carrying chemicals, rice, cement, general cargo and three container ships respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Five vessels viz Clen Cenyon Bridge, Jakarta Express, BM Interpid, Paimpol and MT Quetta carrying two container ships, two general cargo ships and crude oil tanker respectively are currently at the berths. Three ships namely STI Coral, Clen Cenyon Bridge and Jakarta Express with chemicals and two container ships respectively expected to sail on Thursday, while three ships namely Kota Halus, MT Quetta and BM Interpid with container ship, crude oil and general cargo ship respectively are expected to sail on Friday.
Four vessels viz Apostolos, Kota Halus, Namrun and Spar Rigel carrying naphtha ship, container ship and two coal carriers respectively due to arrive on Thursday, while seven vessels viz Mire, Cardonia, Sima Singapore, Hanjin Rome, MAC Anafi, APL Guangzhou and African Jaguar carrying LSFO, five container ships and wheat carrier respectively are due to arrive on Friday.

Three container ships namely CV MSC Magali, CV OOCL San Francisco and CV ACX Marguerite are expected to sail on Thursday morning, while three more ships namely CV MSC Sena, bulk cargo carrier MV Bussara Naree and oil tanker MT Maestrous are expected to sail on the same day.
A total number of nine vessels viz CV MSC Sena, CV OOCL San Francisco, CV ACX Marguerite, CV MSC Magali, MV Wales-II, MV Sapphire-II, MV Bussara Naree, MV Chang Qaing and MT Maestrous are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers cement, wheat, palm oil and diesel oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Five ships namely CMA CGM Puget, Al-Soor-II, Ocean Concord, Abdul and Alexi-I carrying containers, diesel oil, furnace oil, rice and cement respectively are currently at the outer anchorage. A total number of three vessels viz CV CMA CGM Puget, MV Abdul and MT Ocean Concord scheduled to load/offload containers rice and furnace oil respectively are expected to take berths at Container Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Thursday, while two vessels viz CV RHL Fiducia and MV Zulal-N carrying containers and bulk cargo carrier are due to arrive on the same day. Two container ships namely CV Glory and CV MSC Magali are due to arrive on Friday.
