'Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to present people-friendly budget'

Chief Minister, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ameer Haider Khan Hoti has said that the upcoming provincial budget will be people friendly and a step forward towards self-sufficiency. Talking to provincial legislators who called on him here at Chief Minister's Secretariat, he said that a large chunk of resources will be allocated to productive sectors including hydel power, mineral, tourism and industry in order to generate resources for the province.
He said that priority has been given to the ongoing development schemes in the annual development programme (ADP). He said that Bacha Khan Khpal Rozgar Scheme, Bacha Khan Poverty Alleviation Programme, technical training of youth and scholarships for students will prove harbinger of eradication of poverty, unemployment and illiteracy in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He said that these welfare, merit based projects will create everlasting impact on the economy of the province and socio-economic condition of the people.
The chief minister observed that employment schemes have achieved wider acceptation and implementation on such schemes will continue with such spirit and be further extended to benefit more and more people. He said government's steps for eradication of poverty, unemployment and illiteracy will help controlling extremism.
Concluding, he said that people of KP have bravely and courageously faced problems and difficulties in the form of terrorism and flooding and are still doing so. The elected government is all ears for the development of the province and welfare of its people despite untoward circumstances.
Earlier, the MPAs lauded constructive objective-based development strategy and assured the chief minister of their full support and co-operation in this regard. Matters pertaining to progress on development activities in various constituencies and development strategy remained under discussion during the meeting. Those met the chief minister included provincial ministers and MPAs from different political parties including PPP and ANP.
