The Karachi Port handled 107,060 tonnes of cargo including 60,940 tonnes of import cargo, 46,120 tonnes of export cargo and 3,689 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Wednesday.
The total import cargo of 60,940 tonnes comprised of 14,507 tonnes of containerised cargo; 4,255 tonnes of bulk cargo: 2,430 tonnes of wheat; 1,590 tonnes of rock phosphate; 235 tonnes of canola seeds and 42,178 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 46,120 tonnes comprised of 29,312 tonnes of containerised cargo; 297 tonnes of general cargo; 16,511 tonnes of bulk cargo: 4,068 tonnes of cement and 12,443 tonnes of wheat.
Six ships namely APL Shenzhen, Cape Maas, Gulf Safwa, MT Karachi, Pertiwi and Gold Stone carrying two container ships, general cargo, two oil tankers and bulk cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Six vessels viz APL Spinel, Samin-1, Lodestar Genesis, STI Coral, Pertiwi and ALkman carrying two container ships, three oil tankers and bulk cargo ship respectively are currently at the berths.
Three ships namely APL Spinel, Hyundai Discovery and Paimpol with two container ships and general cargo ship respectively expected to sail on Wednesday, while two ships namely Lodestar Genesis and BM Interpid with oil tanker and general cargo ship respectively are expected to sail on Thursday.
A container vessel viz Clen Cenyon Bridge due to arrive on Wednesday, while seven vessels viz Apostolos, Mire, Ital Onesta, Kota Halus, Namrun, Spar Rigel and African Jaguar carrying naphtha, LSFO, two container ships, two coal carriers and wheat carrier respectively are due to arrive on Thursday.
The total export cargo of 32,405 tonnes includes 6,975 tonnes of wheat; 4,154 tonnes of cement and 21,276 tonnes of containerised cargo.
Three container ships namely CV Nedlloyd Barentsz, CV Al-Farahidi and CV Al-Noof expected to sail on Wednesday morning, while two more ships namely CV MSC Magali and MT Th Symphony are expected to sail on the same day.
A total number of ten vessels viz CV Nedlloyd Barentsz, CV Al-Farahidi, CV MSC Magali, CV Al-Noof, MV Wales-II, MV Sapphire-II, MV Bussara Naree, MV Chang Qaing, MT Argent Daisy and MT Th Symphony are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers cement, wheat, palm oil and furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Six ships namely Alexi-I, Maestrous, Ocean Concord, MSC Sena, OOCL San Francisco and ACX Marguerite carrying cement, diesel oil, furnace oil and three container ships respectively are currently at the outer anchorage.
A total number of four vessels viz CV MSC Sena, CV OOCL San Francisco, CV ACX Marguerite and MT Maestrous carrying container ships and diesel oil respectively are expected to take berths at Container Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Wednesday, while two more vessels viz MV Abdul and MT Al-Soor-II are due to arrive on the same day.
Three ships namely CV CV CMA CGM Puget, CV RHL Fiducia and MV Zulal-N are due to arrive on Thursday.
