Capital Development Authority (CDA) has succeeded in vacating almost 14000 kanals land from land-grabbers, sources told Business Recorder on Wednesday. The authority presents report to the Supreme Court after every fortnight regarding latest status of the vacated authority's land from land mafia. CDA has given possession to over 100 allottees in Sector I-12, they added.
Sources said that CDA Enforcement teams, in light of directives of Supreme Court, were carrying out operation against the illegal occupants of CDA acquired land in different areas of the Federal Capital. CDA has already vacated more than 2000 kanals of the acquired land in Sector I-12 while the authority also took back possession of acquired land in Malpur, Nurpur Shahan, Kurr road and other areas.
The authority had to face resistance in some areas during the operation and the land grabbers were not ready to vacate the land at any cost, they said. They further said that Chairman CDA had also directed the enforcement teams to expedite the operation to get the CDA land vacated from the adverse possession in the light of the decision of the Supreme Court.
Sources said that Chairman had also directed that the operation should be across the board and no concession whatsoever would be given to anyone in this regard. CDA is setting up pickets in the area after getting the possession of land, they informed.
Supreme Court is being kept informed about the progress in this connection while a co-ordination committee consisting of the representatives of ICT Administration, Police and CDA is monitoring the development.
