Frankfurt's stock exchange will extend its trading hours for locally listed shares from June 1, while Deutsche Boerse's benchmark high-volume Xetra trade will be unaffected, the bourse operator said. Trading of locally listed shares, funds and exchange-traded funds (ETFs) will be possible from 0800-2000 CET (0600-1800 GMT). It had previously started at 0900 CET, along with the benchmark DAX index, which will trade as usual from 0900 CET to 1730 CET.
"By expanding its service for investors, the Frankfurt Stock Exchange is taking an important step towards improving price quality in German early trading," Deutsche Boerse said in a statement on Tuesday. "This is because the opening of the most important market for German equities will considerably improve the liquidity in trading before 9 am, which in turn may have a positive effect on price ranges."
