Islamabad Police on Monday arrested 18 suspects and three other persons for their alleged involvement in different crimes from whom arms and looted items and pistols were recovered, said a Spokesman of Islamabad Police. Following the instructions from SSP Islamabad Tahir Alam Khan, special search was conducted in areas of various police stations during which Capital Police have nabbed 18 suspected persons who have failed to provide any identification documents and reason to stay in Islamabad.
Secretariat, Shalimar, Sabzi Mandi, Shehzad Town and Koral Police Stations have conducted search operations in their respective areas during which slums, under construction plazas, parking areas and residential areas were frisked. Eighteen suspects were arrested and further investigation is on to get more information about their stay.
In a regular operation, the Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) of Islamabad Police arrested two thieves namely Alam Zeb and Abdul Kahar and recovered stolen items worth Rs 18,000 from them. Tarnol Police arrested an accused Ali for having 30 bore pistol and two rounds.
SSP Islamabad Tahir Alam Khan has further directed all police officials to expand search operation and conduct thorough checking in their areas. He said that guest houses, hotels and inns should also be checked and complete bio data of the guests staying there should be obtained.
