The rupee rates moved both ways on the currency market on Monday in process of high demand of dollars by importers, money experts said. The rupee retrieved its some losses versus dollar, gaining four paisa for buying and selling at 85.76 and 85.81, they said.
The yuan ended at a record high against dollar on Monday after the People's Bank of China set a new peak for the mid-point for the third straight session, suggesting another leg of appreciation is under way.
Interbank buy/sell rates for taka against dollar on Monday: 73.45/73.52 (previous 73.39/73.49). Call Money Rates: 6.00-10.00 percent (previous 5.00-10.00 percent).
Indian rupee was available at Rs 45.16 versus the dollar, Malaysian ringgit was trading at 3.0160 in terms of the greenback and Chinese yuan was at 6.483 versus the greenback.

According to dealers, the dollar closed at Rs 86.10 and Rs 86.30 on buying and selling sides against last Saturday's Rs 86.00 and Rs 86.20.
However, rupee-pound parity remained unchanged. The pound was traded at its previous closing of Rs 141.00 and Rs 142.00 as its buying and selling rates, respectively, dealers said.
The dollar resumed trading at Rs 84.60 (buying) and Rs 85.20 (selling) against same last rates. It did not observe further change in the evening session and closed at Rs 84.60 (buying) and Rs 85.20 (selling).
Pound sterling opened at Rs 136.50 (buying) and Rs 137.60 (selling) against same previous rates. It did not witness any change in the evening session and closed at Rs 136.50 (buying) and Rs 137.60 (selling).
