The fourth-day of the Bridge Federation of Asia & Middle East (BFAME) proved was the best for Pakistan when they held India to 15-15 draw in the 11th round and recorded big wins against Jordan and Bangladesh at Sheraton Hotel Hall in Chennai (India) on Sunday.
Pakistan, the 2009 runners-up lost to India in the earlier league game. But team spearheaded by veteran Rashid-ul-Ghazi-Tehseen Gheewala, Tahir Masood, Javed Miran-Hasan Askari, and Hasan Jawad produced their best to play the draw.
In the 9th round, Pakistan routed Jordan 19-11 and thrashed Bangladesh by whooping margin of 23-7 in tenth round and are maintaining their second position with 223 Victory Points (VPs).
Reigning Champion India continued their consistent showing when they registered a massive 23-7 win over Saudi Arabia and also crushed Sri Lanka by same margin.
As expected India and Jordan qualified for the final of the women competition thus cementing their place for this years Venice Cup. India ended the league rounds with 224.5 VPs with Jordan (181) securing third place and Palestine last with (137).
