Vietnam's rice exports between January and May would rise 15.3 percent from the same period in 2010 to an estimated 3.36 million tonnes, the government said on Wednesday. Revenue from the grain exports would increase 10.5 percent from a year ago to an estimated $1.66 billion, the General Statistics Office said in its monthly report.
Vietnam has revised up by a quarter its rice export forecast for this year to a record high of between 7.1 million and 7.4 million tonnes after a rise in shipments in the first quarter, the Agriculture Ministry said.
