'Sindh government to increase funds for developmental projects'
Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon on Friday said that the government will increase funds for development projects in the next fiscal budget. Talking to a private news channel, he said that a 12-member committee has been formed to monitor the completion of the on-going development projects and it will also ensure the development schemes in the province will be completed soon.
He further said that special attention is being paid towards the districts affected by last year's flood. To a question, he said that the Sindh government would hold local bodies' (LB) elections under modified system this year and there should be no doubt to anyone in this regard.
He said the local bodies polls would not be held under Musharraf's system and revealed that certain modifications would be made in it by amending the local government law. Memon rejected the impression that Pakistan People's Party (PPP) was under pressure not to hold local government polls.
