Muhammad Aslam Javed, Director Labour Welfare Department (LWD) emphasised the need for maintaining the industrial peace in the best interest of the country, however, Punjab Government is actively engaged for creating close liaison between Industrialists and Labour Unions.
Addressing the Members of Pakistan Hosiery Manufacturers & Exporters Association (PHMA) North Zone, he disclosed that the District Labour Board is being reactivated at District Level to solve the grievances of the workers and Industrialists, simultaneously.
Aslam Javed announced that excessive power used by labour Inspectors should be controlled and an enquiry would be conducted for misbehaving the textile exporter with the staff members. Under the Labour Inspection Policy of 2003, he mentioned that registered industrial Units would submit their declaration till July 31, 2011 at Labour Department.
Earlier, presenting welcome address, Chaudhry Salamat Ali, Chairman, Pakistan Hosiery Manufacturers & Exporters Association (PHMA) North Zone highlighted the problems of the Industrialists and demanded that the powers of registration of factories should be decentralised to the regions and zone to end the problems of the Industrial sector. Dr Khurram Tariq, Muhammad Aslam Chaudhry, Mian Naeem Ahmad, Qamar Aftab, Muhammad Amjad Khuwaja, Shahid Ahmad Sheikh and others also addressed the meeting.
