Country passing through critical phase of history: chief minister Punjab

Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that the country was passing through a critical phase of the history. Outsiders wanted to snatch our freedom and subjugate us. He said that enemy wanted to weaken the country but 180 million people were united.
He said that the armed forces of the country would be strengthened so that the enemy might not cast an evil eye. He said that the nation would have to stand on its own feet by renouncing the foreign aid. We would eat simple food but would not allow anyone to mar dignity and honour of the country. He was addressing a public meeting at District Council Complex during his visit to Khushab on Wednesday.
Shahbaz said that the incidents of Raymond Davis, Abbotabad, PNS Mehran and Drone attacks were links of the same chain. He said that Pakistan had come into being after innumerous sacrifices where everyone would have equal rights and it would be a true Islamic welfare state.
He said that it was not that Pakistan which was envisioned by Quaid-e-Azam and Allama Iqbal and hundreds of thousands of people laid down their lives. He said if the country had to be made an Islamic welfare state in a real sense, we would have to follow the Uswa-e-Hasna (Holy Life of PBUH) and it would have to be moulded in accordance with the ideals of Quaid-e-Azam and Allama Iqbal.
He said that we would have to develop indigenous resources by making simplicity, hard work and honesty our motto and reject the foreign aid. He said that Punjab had made the pledge to break the begging bowl. Although, it was not an easy decision to refuse foreign aid yet it was the heart's desire of every Pakistani from Khyber to Karachi, he added.
He said that history was witness of the fact that only those nations succeeded which took difficult decisions during their survival war. He said that as a result of the historic decision of renouncing foreign aid, the difficult period would prove transitionary. If we had to live as an independent and dignified nation, we would have to review our priorities, he added.
Shahbaz Sharif said that Punjab government had taken such steps for the development of Khushab which were unprecedented in the history. He said that the first phase of Khushab highway road would be completed at a cost of Rs 22 crore while the second phase at Rs 20 crore. He said that the project of supply and drainage of water in Joharabad would be completed next year at a cost of Rs 63 crore. The work of water supply at a cost of Rs 25 crore for the historic city Khushab had been started and after its completion, the longstanding demand of the population of one lakh people would be met. Likewise, projects of Polytechnic Institute at a cost of Rs 13 crore, Women Training Centre at Rs 10 crore, construction of Women & Children Hospital in Khushab at Rs 8 crore, Boys Degree College at Noorpur Thal at a cost of Rs 45 crore, construction of Mitha Tiwana Aadhi Kot Road at Rs 20 crore and construction of Kaka Road at a cost of Rs 18 crore were under construction and would be completed next year.
In addition, the work on development projects costing huge expenses was going on speedily. He said that the corruption had eaten into the vitals of the country and we would have to make joint efforts for purging the society of that menace. He said action would be taken against those responsible of making corruption in the name of development projects in Khushab. He directed district administration to complete the project of Khushab-Quaidabad road at the earliest. Later, Chief Minister laid foundation stone of under construction Women Technical Training Centre and Khushab Water Supply Scheme. Provincial Minister for Law Rana Sanaullah Khan, MNAs, MPAs and public representatives were also present on the occasion.
