Mehran Base attack: Nisar calls for joint sitting of parliament
Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, opposition leader in the National Assembly on Wednesday termed the attack on PNS Mehran Base as massive security negligence. He called for summoning a joint sitting of parliament, a private TV channel reported. According to the channel, Chaudhry Nisar said Pakistan was being governed by ineligible rulers who had no affiliation whatsoever with the country and were concentrating only on their foreign tours.
The time was not for posing questions but to get the answers, he asserted. "The Karachi tragedy shows the rulers are playing a humiliating game that is even worse," he said, adding that the Karachi incident was the result of security lapse on which the parliament must be taken into confidence and apprised of the progress on the formation of an independent probe commission. He said according to Naval Chief the incident was not the result of security lapse. "Can he (Naval Chief) describe what constitutes a security lapse?" He asked.
