The ministry of science and technology in collaboration with Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) organised one-day science and technology exhibition, here on Saturday. Irfan Nadeem, Secretary for Science and Technology and Raza Khan, Chairman Co-ordination, FPCCI capital office inaugurated the exhibition.
In his inaugural address, Irfan Nadeem called upon scientists and technologists to play a vital role in the development of the country. He said that the nation should struggle for the maintenance and improvement of scientific and technological institutions. It is progress that guarantees development of products and meeting demands, especially of most needy people, he maintained.
In his address, Muhammad Raza Khan said that importance of science and technology in a society is demonstrated by the unconscious use of it in our daily lives. He said that we often have no idea how science and technology really affect us. Raza said that we constantly use cell phones and computers, which are gifts of science and technology. There are hundreds of devices that science and technology have given us, he said adding that medicine is wall-to-wall science and technology.
Many leading organisations had established stalls at the exposition, which attracted large number of people. The event was aimed at promoting quality products based on indigenous technology, R&D products, processes, technologies developed by PCSIR and other S&T organisations along-with the services being provided to the stakeholders-PR
