Prospects discussed: PBIT to hold mango exhibition, seminar in Italy
Punjab Board of Investment and Trade (PBIT) hosted a meeting with Italian Ambassador, Vincenzo Prati to deliberate on areas of mutual interest for boosting trade between the two countries. The Italian ambassador was accompanied by Head of Commercial & Economic Section, Embassy of Italy, Federico Bianchi and President Italian Pakistan Business Association (IPBA), Ahsan Rasheed.
Chief Executive Officer PBIT Saadat Muzaffar, and Director General, Habib-ur-Rehman Gilani welcomed the distinguished guests. Muzaffar briefed the Italian ambassador about prior projects, which also include up-gradation or setting up integrating cold chain storage units by SIMEST. He recommended that PBIT and IPBA should work together to finalise roadmap for holding investment seminar and mango exhibition in Italy. He also briefed the envoy about the investment potential of Punjab and incentives available for encouraging investment in the region.
He highlighted the key areas mutually beneficial to both countries including textile, leather and marble sectors. Muzaffar said that PBIT is playing the role of a facilitator by guiding foreign investors and pointing out areas for investment and playing its role in the development of indigenous resources of the province.
