Two brothers, both lawyers by profession, were shot dead by unidentified gunmen on Saturday morning in Mauripur police limits in the western part of the city, police said. "Two brothers were shot dead when they were coming out of their home in their car in Musharraf Colony," said Nasrullah, SHO of Mauripur Police Station.
Quoting eye-witnesses of the area, the SHO said that the assailants were on foot and after the attack fled in narrow streets. The victims were identified as Advocates Altaf Hussain and Nazeer Hussain. Their bodies were shifted to Civil Hospital, the SHO added.
He said the motive behind the murders was being ascertained. Meanwhile, Asadullah Memon, an office bearer of Sindh Bar Council (SBC) confirmed that the victims were both lawyers by profession. In his statement the vice-chairman SBC, Iftikhar Javaid Qazi condemned the murders of the lawyers and demanded immediate arrest of the culprits.
