Activity at Karachi and Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 101,212 tonnes of cargo including 61,954 tonnes of import cargo, 39,258 tonnes of export cargo and 4,097 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Tuesday. The total import cargo of 61,954 tonnes comprised of 31,795 tonnes of containerised cargo; 2,776 tonnes of general cargo; 21,836 tonnes of bulk cargo: 17,000 tonnes of coal; 4,836 tonnes of rock phosphate and 5,547 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 39,258 tonnes comprised of 31,355 tonnes of containerised cargo; 230 tonnes of general cargo; 4,973 tonnes of bulk cargo: 4,379 tonnes of cement; 594 tonnes of wheat and 2,700 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. Eight ships namely Kota Handal, Lt. Genova, Taban-1, APL Ruby, MOL Success, Lodestar Genesis, Chemroad Quest and TS Pusan carrying five container ships, chemicals, ethanol and container ship respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Seven vessels viz Lt. Genova, Northern Valence, Bunga Raya Dua, Conti Express, Kiran Asya, Iron Butterfly and Seagull-D carrying three container ships, steel & general cargo, wheat carrier, project cargo and wheat carrier respectively are currently at the berths. A container ship namely Northern Valence expected to sail on Tuesday.
Five vessels viz Oriental Emerald, APL Cyprine, Buxmelody, Gold Stone and Rosy Falcon carrying naphtha, two container ships and two wheat carrier respectively due to arrive on Tuesday, while four vessels viz MT Lahore, Manila Express, Hanjin Berlin and Valopoula carrying crude oil tanker, two container ships and DAP carrier respectively are due to arrive on Wednesday.

Two container ships namely CV Libra Ipanema and CV MSC Magali sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning, while another ship namely MT Golden Ambrosia is expected to sail on the same day afternoon. A total number of six vessels viz CV Libra Ipanema, CV MSC Magali, MV Hunter-K, MV Al-Aska, MT Golden Ambrosia and MT Enrico Ievoli are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, wheat, cement, MEG and phosphoric acid respectively during last 24 hours.
Four ships namely Fowairet, UASC Shuwaikh, Nedlloyd Drake and SC Shantou carrying containers and palm oil respectively are currently at the outer anchorage. A total number of four vessels viz CV Fowairet, CV UASC Shuwaikh, CV Nedlloyd Drake and MV SC Shantou carrying containers and palm oil respectively are expected to take berths at Container Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Tuesday, while another ship namely MV Liberty Spirit due to arrive on the same day.
Two ships namely Ocean Concord and Bussra Naree with oil tanker and bulk cargo carrier respectively are due to arrive at Port Qasim on Wednesday. Eight container vessels viz CMA CGM Puccni, CSAV Appennini, Dubai Express, ACX Rafflesia, MSC Sierra, MT Karachi, Ocean Star and Narghade carrying containers, furnace oil and wheat are also expected to arrive at Port Qasim.
