Federal Minister for Interior Rehman Malik has directed the law enforcement agencies to take special measures to strengthen the security across the country. It is need of the hour to strengthen the security apparatus and make them more vibrant, vigilant and effective to provide complete peace of mind to people, the Minister said while addressing a high level meeting held at Interior Ministry on Tuesday.
The meeting was attended by Secretary Interior, Qamar Zaman Chaudhry, Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Tariq Pirzada, Inspector General of Police Islamabad, Wajid Ali Durrani, Deputy Inspector General of Police (Security) Islamabad, Director General National Crisis Management Cell and Deputy Commissioner Islamabad, besides representatives of other law enforcement agencies and Interior Ministry officials.
The minister directed the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Administration to make security checking system at entry and exit points of the city more practical and effective and enhance patrolling in the city. The participants of the meeting discussed the security and law and order related issues in length and decided to enhance security all over country. The meeting also decided to introduce more effective intelligence sharing between the institutions, besides improving co-ordination among them.
