Islamabad Police have fought on front lines against terrorists and added a golden chapter in its history, said Wajid Ali Khan Durrani, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad here on Tuesday.
"The brave policemen, no doubt, had left the scene after performing their specific role, but the perennial mark they left upon the face of society would continue to mould spirits of their successors to follow their path with a renewed commitment," he said while addressing at `Barra Khana' (Big Meal) arranged for the Capital Police force here at police lines headquarter.
A huge number of diplomats, bureaucrats and notables of the society also attended the function. DIG (Operations) Bani Amin Khan, DIG Headquarters Ahmed Mukaram, SSP Headquarters Zubair Ahmed Hashmi, SSP Islamabad Tahir Alam Khan, SSP Traffic Dr Moeen Masood, all SP, DSPs and other senior police officials were also present on the occasion,
The IGP said that over the last few years, several personnel of Islamabad police had laid down their lives in operations against terrorists, miscreants and militants, but their resolve and sense of duty to the nation remain unshaken. Tableaus and skits were presented and Islamabad Operational Police won the first award through its wonderful performance.
