At least three persons including an activist of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) were killed in separate incidents of targeted killings in various parts of metropolis on Monday. According to details, an activist of MQM was shot dead near Crown Garden in the limits of Gulistan Jauhar police station. MQM Danish, 25 son of Ayaz was targeted at Referendum polling stand located near MQM Unit E office at Block IV Gulistan Jauhar.
The victim, who was shifted to nearby private hospital, succumbed to his injuries during treatment. Later his body was moved to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for post mortem. Police said the victim was an activist of MQM. After the incident, tension engulfed many parts of the Gulistan Jauhar and Safora Chowk where miscreants resorted to firing in air and forced shopkeepers to pull down their shutters. No case was registered till filing of this report.
A young man was shot dead near Tipu Sultan Check Post Sharae Faisal in the limits of Bahadurabad police station. The victim 25-year-old Javed son of Abdul Samad, a resident of Defence Khayaban Bukhari Misri Shah Mazaar, was gunned down when he was on the way to home in his car. He received multiple bullets and succumbed to his injuries in hospital. No case was registered till filing of this report.
In another incident, a contractor was killed near Yar Mohammad Goth at Gaddap Town in the limits of Gulshan Maymar police station. The incident took place at Yar Mohammad Goth situated at near Super Highway Gaddap Town, where the contractor was targeted by two armed men at under construction plot. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed.
