The US on Sunday made concerted efforts to repair the strained relations with Islamabad in the wake of May 2 Abbottabad raid by US special forces against Osama bin Laden.
Charmin, US Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Senator Johan Kerry on Sunday called on Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani soon after his arrival here from Afghanistan and US Secretary of State Hilary Clinton made a phone call to President Asif Ali Zardari and reportedly discussed with him post-Abbottabad operation situation.
Earlier, an important meeting was held between civilian and military leadership of the country at Presidency ahead of Senator Johan Kerry arrival to discuss security situation as well as about the future course of relationship with the United States. Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani and Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Pervez Kiyani called on President Asif Ali Zardari at Aiwan-e-Sadr and discussed security and post-Abbottabad situation.
