Rehabilitation of three educational institutions begins in Lower Dir
The District administration has started the rehabilitation and renovation of three educational institutions in Chakdarra, Tehsil Adenzai of District Lower Dir by providing 960 chairs, tables, 40 ceiling fans and IT equipment under the Malakand Development Programme.
According to Malakand Development Programme (MDP) these educational institutions were heavily affected by an exodus of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs).
Therefore, the District administration has started the rehabilitation and renovation of these institutions. Under the scheme, Government Girls Higher Secondary School (GGHSS) Chakdarra has been equipped with 600 student chairs, 30 teacher chairs, 28 ceiling fans, 5 computers along with printers 10 steel cupboards, one photocopier and refrigerator.
Government Primary School No.2 Chakdarra has been repaired, rehabilitated and furnished to make them habitable for students. It has been provided 200 student chairs, 15 teacher chairs, six ceiling fans and six cupboards.
Likewise, Government Girls High School (GGHS) were allotted 100 student chairs, 10 teacher chairs, six ceiling fans, four steel cupboards, one water cooler and white boards. Similarly, three bathrooms in GGHSS with full accessories, two additional rooms, and two water tanks were constructed in GPS and GGHSS while two septic tanks have been constructed in GGPS and GGHSS.
The programme focused on to improve access to quality education. These educational institutions were badly in need of repair and reconstruction. The institution's building will now have a better equipped to facilitate 1,840 students who will now study in a better class environment with proper furniture and have access to latrines and drinking water. It will also benefit some 48 teachers of the schools.
