War against terror: world urged to recognise Pakistan's sacrifices
Chairman Senate Committee on Defence and Production Senator Lieutenant General Javed Ashraf Qazi (Retd) said that Pakistan had suffered tremendous losses in war against terror and world must recognise the sacrifices which Pakistan had offered for ensuring global peace and security.
He expressed these views while talking to a 10-member delegation of US National War College participants at the Parliament House on Saturday. Responding to various questions, Senator Qazi said that relations between Pakistan and US needed to be built on mutual respect and trust to overcome the challenges of the time and to root out militancy.
He said May 2 incident at Abbottabad deteriorated ties between Pakistan and the US because of unilateral action of US forces. He underscored the need for closer co-operation in different fields including education, trade and enhancing military to military contacts.
