At least four persons including a minor girl were killed in separate mishaps in different parts of metropolis on Saturday. According to details, a retired navy employee was shot dead at North Karachi within the limits of Khawaja Ajmair Nagri police station. The victim 52-year-old Asmat Ali son of Ali Bux, a resident of sector 5-A-3 North Karachi, was targeted by unknown assailants when he was sleeping in his house.
Resultantly he received two bullets and died on the spot. The body was transported to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for medico legal formalities. Police said the victim, who was father of five, was targeted while sleeping. They suspected that personal enmity might have been involved in this incident. No case was registered till filing of this report.
A man was shot dead near Paracha Chowk, Shersha in the limits of Site B police station. The victim, who was identified as 40-year-old Naeem son of Ashraf and a resident of Bara Maidan No 2 Nazimabad, was fallen prey to targeted killing spree when he was going to meet his relative near Paracha Chowk Shersha. He received single bullet and was shifted to ASH where he succumbed to his injuries.
Police said the victim had no affiliation with any political or religious party. In another incident, two persons including a minor girl were crushed to death near Nooriabad Super Highway. The incident took place at Nooriabad where a parked car (ATN-192) was hit by a speedy truck. Resultantly a 20-year-old Faraz son of Anwar Ali and three-year-old Rimla daughter of Arsalan were crushed to death on the spot.
The truck driver managed to flee. The bodies were shifted to ASH for medico legal formalities. Police said the victims, who was the resident of block 13-D Gulshan Iqbal, were returning to home after attending function at Hyderabad. Yet another man was crushed to death near Saleem Centre within the remits of New Karachi police station.
The victim 30-year-old Mohammad Shahnawaz son of Shabbiruddin, a resident of sector VIII North Karachi, was hit by a speedy truck near Saleem Centre when he was on the way to work on his motorcycle (AJK-6228). Resultantly he died on the spot. The body was shifted to ASH for legal formalities.
