Law enforcement agencies on Saturday nabbed a US national on charges of 'espionage', after he was found roaming around sensitive defence installations in the outskirts of the Capital, intelligence sources told BR. The detained US national has been identified as Mathew Craig, who was staying in G-8 sector, sources said, adding that the detained man had married to a Pakistani woman and was staying in the Capital for long time.
Craig was taken to unknown destination where he was being questioned about his presence in highly sensitive area, sources said, adding that his Pakistani wife was also being grilled. Sources declined to answer if any material or equipment was recovered from the detained US national.
Craig was travelling in a car bearing registration No EO-318 Jacobabad, sources said, adding that during preliminary investigation, he told police that he had lost his way. When this scribe checked with the immigration authorities it was learnt that Craig had arrived in Pakistan on a business visa.
