For the advancement and progress of any country, emerging technologies have to be adopted. Therefore, discussion on information technology (IT) is a key part of intellectual discussions for any economy. The 2011 WCO IT conference and Exhibition is a great step in this direction.
Focusing especially on customs, trade and transport logistics, this conference is very important in Pakistan's context as these are significant links to major industries of Pakistan. By aiding businesses, these services also help in smooth fiscal functioning of the country.
The conference will also offer great opportunity for businessmen and relevant personnel to learn new technological solutions and apply them to their businesses, and make a collective contribution to their country through this learning process. The learning process will be huge because 100 countries will be participating in the conference.
Meeting with several global stakeholders will be overall beneficial for the country as it will provide opportunities of promoting Pakistan's business community, and also increase networking prospects. Fundamental issues, problems, and solutions can be discussed and the ideas shared will be quite invaluable. From a broader perspective, the benefits of such an initiative are tremendous.
