Pakistan Customs Drug Enforcement Cell - DEC, Karachi Airport Unit recovered and seized 425g heroin concealed in books booked in postal parcel for South Africa. According to details, Customs DEC staff while clearing the outgoing international parcel mails at International Mail Office - IMO, Shara-e-Faisal Karachi, intercepted a parcel booked from Sanghar (Sindh) for an address in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Upon examination the parcel was found to contain a home-decor catalogue type book where fine quality heroin was concealed in its hard cover pages. Consequent upon recovery and seizure of contraband narcotics, a prosecution case under Control of Narcotics Substances Act, 1997 has been registered. Further investigations are in progress.-PR
