Islamabad Police have arrested 16 persons, including three women, for their alleged involvement in different crimes, and recovered one stolen motorcycle, two pistols (30-bore), 325 gram heroin and 1.200 kg charas from their possession, said a spokesman of Islamabad Police here on Wednesday.
Responding to a tip-off regarding the presence of drug traffickers, Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) of Islamabad Police raided the area and held four persons, namely Waqas, Afzal, Muhmmad Arif and Tariq, from whom 1.200 kg charas and 325 gram heroin were recovered, he said.
Golra Police succeeded in tracing the stolen motorcycle by nabbing a motorcycle thief, Alam Zeb, and recovered the stolen motorcycle (JL-516) from him. Shalimar Police during routine patrolling stopped a person Nasir Masih and during the course of search and investigation one pistol (30-bore) and four bullets were recovered from him. Aabpar Police arrested Aftab from whom 110 gram heroin was recovered.
Sabzi Mandi Police on complaint from the locals raided House No 834, sector I-10/2, and nabbed five persons, including three women, for their alleged involvement in prostitution. They were identified as Musarat Begum, Rabia, Fakhira, Abdul Aziz, Nasrullah. Further investigation was underway, the spokesman said. Sabzi Mandi Police also apprehended three beggars--Dilawar, Sajawal and Khadim--during its operation to eliminate the menace of beggary. Islamabad SSP Tahir Alam Khan appreciated the performance of the policemen who nabbed the outlaws and directed them to further intensify efforts against anti-social elements.
