A small number of Parliamentarians on Tuesday offered Fateha for slain Osama bin Laden in the National Assembly without permission of the Chair. An independent candidate from NA-264 who had won a seat on Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) ticket Maulvi Asmatulla on a point of order said that Osama was a Muslim and America accepted that his funeral prayers were performed according to Islamic tradition before burial at sea which meant they should offer Dua for him, he added.
He led Dua for bin Laden, defying calls from Deputy Chairman, Fasial Karim Kundi that he needed permission for the act. Subsequently, former Federal Minister, Maulana Attaur Rehman of JUI-F from D.I Khan, Laiq Muhammad Khan of JUI-F from Mensehra and Sardar Shahjehan Yousuf of PML-Q raised their hands for Dua. Deputy Speaker National Assembly, Faisal Karim Kundi expressed dissatisfaction and told Asmatullah that he should not offer Fatheha without his permission.
