The Karachi Port handled 245,830 tonnes of cargo including 187,892 tonnes of import cargo, 57,938 tonnes of export cargo and 5,810 loaded & empty containers during last 48 hours ended at 0700 hours on Monday. The total import cargo of 187,892 tonnes comprised of 96,596 tonnes of containerised cargo; 4,530 tonnes of rock phosphate and 86,766 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 57,938 tonnes comprised of 54,984 tonnes of containerised cargo; 824 tonnes of general cargo and 2,130 tonnes of cement. Ten ships namely TS Nagoya, OOCL Dalian, APL Guangzhou, CSL Ride, Al-Mirqab, Hansa Century, Bunga Raya Empat, Chemroad Vega, Sea Wave and Dongbu Promy-1 carrying seven container ships, ethanol, cement and oil tanker respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Thirteen vessels viz Al-Mirqab, MOL Sea Breeze, Hansa Century, Bunga Raya Empat, Hyundai Highness, OEL Trust, APL Brisbane, Bunga Raya Tiga, MT Karachi, Dongbu Promy-1, MT Lahore, High Glow and Atlantic carrying eight container ships, four oil tankers and tug are currently at the berths.
Seven ships namely OEL Trust, Marcampania, Atlantic, FTB Montecristo, APL Brisbane, MOL Sea Breeze and Bunga Raya Tiga carrying two container ships, tug and four container ships expected to sail on Monday, while two ships namely Hyundai Highness and MT Lahore with container ship and oil tanker are expected to sail on Tuesday. Two vessels viz Kota Akbar and Hanjin Manaco with two container ships respectively due to arrive on Monday, while eight vessels viz Shoko Maru, YM Uranus, Oriental Rose, Stena Paris, Hansa Constitution, Bella, APL Coral and Taban-1 carrying two ethanol ships, two naphtha carriers and four container ships respectively are due to arrive on Tuesday.
A container ship namely CV Maersk Wyoming sailed out to sea on Monday morning, while two more ships namely CV MSC Magali and MT Chemroad Mega are expected to sail on the same day afternoon. A total number of seven vessels viz CV Maersk Wyoming, CV MSC Magali, MV Majestic, MV Rana, MV Tycoon-II, MT Chemroad Mega and MT Genmar Compatriot are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, wheat, cement, palm oil and furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Three ships namely Never Land, Al-Nouf and MSC Jade with two furnace oil tankers and container ship respectively are currently at the outer anchorage. A container ship namely CV MSC Jade expected to take berth at Container Terminal on Monday, while a container ship namely CV Saudi Hofuf is due to arrive on the same day. Three ships: An oil tanker namely Al-Salam-II and two container vessels viz CV Nedlloyd Tasman and CV UASC Doha are due to arrive on Tuesday, while two more container vessels viz CV CMA CGM Chopin and CV Aruni Rickmers are due to arrive at Port Qasim on Wednesday.
