Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Sabah swore in the country's new cabinet Sunday, the official KUNA news agency reported, after the former government resigned in March. Former Kuwaiti prime minister Nasser Mohammed al-Ahmed al-Sabah was asked to form a new cabinet in April, one week after the government resigned.
Four ruling family members have retained their posts from the outgoing cabinet. They hold the key portfolios of defence, interior, foreign affairs and the state ministry for housing and development.
Former communications minister Mohammad al-Busairi was appointed as the minister of oil, replacing Sheikh Ahmad al-Abdullah al-Sabah, also a member of the ruling family.
