Activity at Karachi and Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 60,219 tonnes of cargo including 28,808 tonnes of import cargo, 31,411 tonnes of export cargo and 2,946 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Friday. The total import cargo of 28,808 tonnes comprised of 17,616 tonnes of containerised cargo; 26 tonnes of general cargo; 2,770 tonnes of rock phosphate and 8,396 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 31,411 tonnes comprised of 21,327 tonnes of containerised cargo; 2,107 tonnes of general cargo; 2,077 tonnes of cement and 5,900 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. Three ships namely Risanger, MSC Ayala and Greenwich Bridge carrying oil tanker and two container ships respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Five vessels viz VML-2, CMC Vision, Cap George, Viona and Caribbean Sea carrying barge, tug and three container ships are currently at the berths. Four ships namely Viona, Caribbean Sea, Cap George and Royal Jasper carrying three container ships and jet oil tanker expected to sail on Friday, while two ships namely Chemroad Vega and Sea Wave with ethanol carrier and cement are expected to sail on Saturday.
Four container vessels viz OOCL Dalian, TS Nagoya, CSL Ride and APL Guangzhou due to arrive on Friday, while seven vessels viz MT Karachi, YM Uranus, High Glow, Hansa Century, Hanjin Beijiang, Bella and Al-Mirqab with crude oil tanker, naphtha, mogas and four container ships respectively are due to arrive on Saturday.

Two container ships namely CV OOCL Kobe and CV CSAV Cantabrain sailed out to sea on Friday morning. A total number of seven vessels viz CV CSAV Cantabrain, CV OOCL Kobe, MV Majestic, MV Rana, MV Tycoon-II, MT Ellen Knutsen and MT Eemi are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, wheat, cement, wheat, palm oil and furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Two ships namely Never Land and Al-Soor-II carrying furnace oil and diesel oil respectively are currently at the outer anchorage. A container ship namely CV Glory expected to take berth at Container Terminal on Friday. A total number of four vessels viz CV MSC Magali, CV MSC Roberta, MT Chemroad Mega and MT Genmar Compatriotic are due to arrive on Friday. Two container ships namely CV Saudi Hofuf and CV Antje Wulf are due to arrive on Saturday, while another container vessel viz CV Maersk Wyoming is due to arrive at Port Qasim on Sunday.
