Lahore High Court here Friday fixed May 10 for preliminary hearing of a petition challenging US raid on the residence of Osama Bin Laden in Abbottabad after overruling objection of the registrar office. Office of this court had put objection on the case saying the incident took place in Abbottabad, which fell outside the jurisdiction of LHC.
Therefore, the petition should be filed either in the Supreme Court or Peshawar High Court. The office fixed the case before Justice Sh Azmat Saeed as objection case. The petitioner Muhammad Ishtiaq advocate had argued that American operation is the violation of constitution of Pakistan and US forces disgraced the sovereignty of the state by attacking inside Pakistan without permission. He pointed out that Pakistani army and rulers completely failed to discharge their constitutional duty of protecting country's borders.
