The Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA) has demanded resignation of Army Chief on failure to shield sovereignty of Pakistan. The bar also demanded the resignation of President, Prime Minister, Director General (DG) Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), DG military intelligence (MI), and federal Interior minister for clandestine US Operation in Abottabad against Osama Bin Laden.
The bar through a resolution passed unanimously, insisted of holding court martial of Army Chief, DG ISI, DG MI for the criminal negligence they showed in their duty to defend borders of motherland. The bar, which met here on Friday with its President Asghar Ali Gill in chair amid strong feelings of resentment on the humiliation of the nation by the US Operation inside the Pakistan.
The resolution against the US operation was presented in the house by Barrister Zafar Ullah. Asghar Ali Gill, LHCBA President, Awais Ahmed, former president LHCBA, Raja Zulqarnain, former secretary Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA), Muhammad sharif Chohan advocate, Sultan Mehmood Khan Advocate, and many other lawyers addressed the bar meeting and condemned the US operation.
They expressed deep concerns on failure of Pakistan Army and intelligence agencies to smell out the launch of armed operation of US soldiers in Abottabad near Kakol Military Academy and restricted site of Kahuta atomic plant. They said the major chunk of nation budget was annually spent on the army only for defence of the motherlands. They said country had been left at the mercy of US Commandos and gunship helicopters, which without any fear toyed with territorial sanctity of the country under the nose of military academy.
