Pakistani artists' major group show is being held in Singapore from May 10. Quite appropriately titled "Artistic Fusions from Pakistan", the major art exhibition of 13 Pakistani artists is to be held at the Art House, Old Parliament Lane, Level 2 Annex Building and is to continue for six days till May 15.
Besides prominent Pakistani artist of international fame, Jimmy Engineer, other twelve artists whose selected art work is being displayed in the exhibition are Iqbal Hussain, A.Q. Arif, A.S. Rind, Abrar Ahmad, Amjad Butt, Mansur Rahi and his artist wife Hajra Mansur, Maham Gul, Mashkoor Raza, Mussarat Arif, Salman Farooqi and Tariq Javaid. In addition to the art work of these 13 Pakistani artists, according to the organisers, paintings and calligraphic work of four women artists based in Singapore will also be on display in the exhibition.
They are Ms Salahi Rahni and Ms Shahla Rostami, both hailing from Iran but based in Singapore for varying period and doing calligraphic and paintings as their hobby, and Mrs Lubov Fedotova and Mrs Claudia Gonzales. Mrs Lubov Fedotova is the wife of the Ambassador of Ukraine in Singapore and Mrs Claudia Gonzales is the wife of the Mexican Ambassador in Singapore.
So the art lovers visiting the exhibition would have to see lot of art work of men and women artists not only from Pakistan but also those hailing from Iran, Ukraine and Mexico. The exhibition of the multinational artists has been organised by the Pakistan High Commission in Singapore, the Art House, Sony Entertainment and the Friends Entertainment in collaboration with the Revivers Galleria, based in Gulberg Lahore.
The major group show of the Pakistan, Iran, Mexico and Ukraine origin artists is being curated by owner and curator of the Revivers Galleria Sara Anjum, who has already reached Singapore for this purpose. Meanwhile, internationally famous artist, Jimmy Engineer, has also reached Singapore this evening from Karachi, where he is based, at the special invitation of the organisers.-PR
