By threatening to resign and calling a press briefing, then cancelling it and finally went to Lahore to resolve the issue with Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Ijaz Butt - all these proves that chief selector Mohsin Hasan Khan did it only to blackmail the board, believes former Test cricketer Sarfraz Nawaz.
"Mohsin only tried to blackmail the board and he never intended to resign as if he really wanted to resign then he should have resigned first and then called a press briefing like Abdul Qadir and Aamir Sohail did in the past," Sarfraz told PPI. "He used the media to put pressure on the board and it is highly immoral to do that," he added. He further said that Mohsin in the past has said that he would never compromise on principles and if anyone from the board tried to trample the principles then certainly he would resign.
"I remember Mohsin in the past said 'By God I would resign then compromising on principles'. And recently I read that he said (Coach) Waqar Younis is destroying Pakistan cricket by not letting new talent to come forward. But now he has resolved the so-called issues with the board. It all shows that he has no credibility, he only cares about his salary," Sarfraz said. Sarfraz Nawaz said that the board is also pathetic just as its selector Mohsin Khan.
