A sector in-charge of Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat (ASWJ) was killed while two others were injured in the limits of North Nazimabad police station by unidentified attackers. According to details, Haji Masood-ur-Rehman, 32, son of Haji Musafir Khan was targeted in Khando Goth North Nazimabad near Mubeen Clinic, when he was sitting along with Laiq Ahmed and Habib Ullah.
Resultantly, Masood died on the sport, while Laiq and Habib sustained several bullet injuries and were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for treatment. Police said the victim was a sector in charge of ASWJ and both injured were also activists of the group. Police said the deceased was the resident of Block B North Nazimabad and added that they received multiple empty shells from the scene.
President ASWJ Aurangzaib Farooqi said the victim, who was a sector in charge of North Nazimabad, was an assistant of Maulana Taj Hanfi. He condemned the killing demanded of the government to take responsible to task. Following the said incident, tension prevailed at Nagan Chowrangi and surrounding areas. Heavy contingents of police and rangers were deployed in the area to avert any untoward situation. No case was registered till filing of this report.
A bullet-riddled body of a youth was found in an empty plot located at Altaf Nagar in the precincts of Manghopir police station. The identity of victim was yet to be ascertained. Police said the victim received three bullets. No case was registered till filing of this report.
