On the appeal of the Jamaat-e-Islami chief, Syed Munawar Hasan countrywide protest will be held on Friday against the increasing US interference in the country, drone attacks and the slavish mentality of the Pakistani rulers. Rallies and demonstrations will be held after the Juma prayers in the federal and the provincial capitals besides big cities and towns, which will be addressed by the JI leaders and other important people.
Meanwhile, the JI deputy Secretary General, Dr Farid Ahmed Piracha, has expressed the hope that the masses would come on roads for the defence of the country, its independence and sovereignty and to condemn the cowardly approach of the government, on the appeal made by the JI chief. Farid Piracha said that the Abbotabad operation raised many questions about the way the corrupt and incompetent rulers had sold out national sovereignty in the US hands. He believed that the answer to all these questions was in the hands of the people. If the people stood united for national independence and sovereignty, the parliament and the national security institutions too would realise their responsibilities.
