Privatisation process: PC must take all stakeholders on board: Mahar
The Privatisation Commission (PC) must take all stakeholders on board prior to initiating the privatisation process, particularly removing the doubts of the workers of the State Owned Entities (SoEs), said Ghous Bux Khan Mahar, Federal Minister for Privatisation while addressing the officers of the PC, here on Wednesday.
The minister directed the PC to strictly follow all laid down rules and procedures during the privatisation process of SoEs and all phases of the process must be open, transparent and up to maximum satisfaction of the people of Pakistan who were the real and sole owners of the national assets. Earlier, during a joint briefing to both the Federal Minister for Privatisation Ghous Bux Khan Mahar and the Minister of State for Privatisation Rana Asif Tauseef, it was informed that that since the inception of the PC 167 entities have been privatised while 30 entities were on the active list.
Tauseef said that all efforts should be made to ensure the value addition of our national assets through the government's introduced mode of Public Private Partnership (PPP). The Secretary PC Imtiaz Hussain Qazi briefed both the minister's regarding the privatisation policy, process and the functions of the institution.-PR
