Activity at Karachi and Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 61,043 tonnes of cargo including 38,088 tonnes of import cargo and 22,955 tonnes of export cargo during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Tuesday. The total import cargo of 38,088 tonnes comprised of 18,138 tonnes of containerised cargo; 43 tonnes of general cargo; 17,025 tonnes of bulk cargo: 16,325 tonnes of coal; 700 tonnes of rock phosphate and 2,882 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 22,955 tonnes comprised of 20,324 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,211 tonnes of general cargo and 1,420 tonnes of cement. Seven ships namely MT Lahore, YM Asia, Sima Singapore, Dae San, APL Shenzhen, Cape Manuel and Iris Victoria with oil tanker, two container ships, bunker, two container ships and oil tanker respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Three vessels viz Hyundai Confidance, Banjo Bridge and Salis carrying three container ships are currently at the berths. Three ships namely Hyundai Confidance, Parmis and Salis carrying three container ships expected to sail on Tuesday, while another container ship namely Banjo Bridge is expected to sail on Wednesday.
Two vessels viz APL Agate and Liberty Pride with container ship and vehicles carrier respectively due to arrive on Tuesday, while seven vessels viz Chemroad Vega, Greenwich Bridge, HS Challenger, Caribbean Sea, MSC Ayala, Cap George and Viona with ethanol and six container ships respectively are due to arrive on Wednesday.

The total export cargo of 11,175 tonnes includes 6,300 tonnes of wheat and 4,875 tonnes of cement. MV Yu Fu sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning, while another ship namely MT Analipsi Lady is expected to sail on the same day afternoon. A total number of eight vessels viz MV Rana, Tycoon-II, Majestic. Paerl of Jabel Ali, Gennaro Ievoli, Analipsi Lady, Al-Azizoo and MV Yu Fu are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, wheat, canola seeds, chemicals, diesel oil, bunker barge and edible oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Five ships namely Golden Top, CGM Mozart, Deira, Olympic Cerenity and Asir carrying edible oil, containers, diesel oil and containers respectively are currently at the outer anchorage. A total number of five vessels viz Golden Top, CGM Mozart, Deira, Olympic Cerenity and Asir carrying edible oil, containers, diesel oil and containers respectively are expected to take berths at FOTCO Oil Terminal and Container Terminal respectively on Tuesday.
