The Karachi Port handled 90,293 tonnes of cargo including 59,839 tonnes of import cargo, 30,454 tonnes of export cargo and 4,369 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Saturday. The total import cargo of 59,839 tonnes comprised of 40,900 tonnes of containerised cargo; 4 tonnes of general cargo; 1,935 tonnes of sulphur and 17,000 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 30,454 tonnes comprised of 12,174 tonnes of containerised cargo; 2,106 tonnes of general cargo; 8,174 tonnes of bulk cargo: 1,118 tonnes of cement; 7,056 tonnes of loose bulk cement and 8,000 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
Four ships namely Abdul Aziz Arab, Al-Shuwaikh, Wan Hai-603 and Yossa Bhum with for repair, general cargo and two container ships sailed out to sea during the reported period. Five vessels viz Ital Oceano, CSL Ride, APL Sokhna, Primo Stealth and Nord Optimiser carrying three container ships and two oil tankers respectively are currently at the berths.
Two ships namely Ital Oceano and Positano with two container ships expected to sail on Saturday, while seven ships namely CSL Ride, Primo Stealth, Kota Harum, MT Lahore, Invicta, King Feast and Nord Optimiser carrying two container ships, two oil tankers, cement, general cargo and oil tanker respectively are expected to sail on Sunday.
Five vessels viz TS Singapore, Al-Mirqab, Kota Harum, Cape Manuel and Free Lady with four container ships and steel respectively due to arrive on Saturday, while six vessels viz Risanger, Hyundai Confidence, Cosco Kawasaki, Sima Singapore, APL Shenzhen and Star Island-H with jet oil, four container ships and rock phosphate respectively are due to arrive on Sunday. Three ships namely Chemroad Vega, Parmis and Salis carrying ethanol and two container ships respectively are due to arrive on Monday.
