Incidents of violence and arson, sparked by armed clash between the workers of Jiye Sindh and defunct People's Amn Committee (PAC) on Saturday evening left at least three people dead at Lyari in the limits of Baqdadi police station. According to details, tension engulfed the area when one 'Aashi', a worker of Jiye Sindh, killed his friend Waseem Abbas, who was a member of the defunct PAC, over personal matter in Street No 2 of Ghada Market.
After committing the crime, Aashi managed to flee while members of PAC started search for him and resorted to gunshooting. Resultantly, two workers of Jiye Sindh, Adnan and Imran, received bullet wounds and succumbed to injuries on the spot. Following the said incidents, all commercial and social activities in the area came to a standstill and unknown armed men started aerial firing and forced shopkeepers to pull down their shutters.
Police said that all three deceased were residents of Street No 2 of Ghada Market. Meanwhile, a spokesman of Jiye Sindh, Elahi Baksh, confirmed death of his two party workers. He also condemned the said killings and demanded of the government to take the responsible persons to task.
