Activity at Karachi and Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 164,051 tonnes of cargo including 128,477 tonnes of import cargo, 35,574 tonnes of export cargo and 5,301 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Wednesday. The total import cargo of 128,477 tonnes comprised of 42,155 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,230 tonnes of general cargo; 14,160 tonnes of bulk cargo: 12,770 tonnes of coal; 1,300 tonnes of rock phosphate and 70,932 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 35,574 tonnes comprised of 25,997 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,231 tonnes of general cargo; 8,346 tonnes of bulk cargo: 2,590 tonnes of wheat; 2,798 tonnes of cement and 2,958 tonnes of sand. Nine ships namely Noble Coral, A-Saada, Afamia, Busan Express, MSC Anafi, Samanta, Cosco Kawasaki, Taban-1 and Omera Queen with general cargo, oil tanker, bulk cargo, two containers, bulk cargo two containers and oil tanker sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Five vessels viz MSC Anafi, Lodestar Genesis, President Truman, Ocean Baby and Kota Anggerik carrying container ship, oil tanker, container ship, general cargo and container ship respectively are currently at the berths. Three ships namely Lodestar Genesis, Kota Anggerik and Ocean Baby with oil tanker, container ship and general cargo respectively expected to sail on Wednesday, while six ships namely President Truman, Oriental Rose, Hyundai Freedom, High Glow, Unicorn Dolphin and Rosy Falcon carrying container ship, oil tanker, container ship container ship, oil tanker, sand and wheat respectively are expected to sail on Thursday.
Five vessels viz Ozay-5, Yossa Bhum, Wan Hai-603, Positano and Island Express with chemicals, three container ships and sulpher respectively due to arrive on Wednesday, while three vessels viz Primo Stealth, Resolve and Al-Shuwaikh with LSFO, vehicles carrier and cattle ship respectively are due to arrive on Thursday.

The total export cargo of 18,436 tonnes includes 1,532 tonnes of rice; 3,806 tonnes of wheat; 774 tonnes of cement and 12,324 tonnes of containerised cargo. MV UASC Zam Zam sailed out to sea on Wednesday morning, while five more ships namely Argent Gerbera, Nedlloyd Hudson, MV Commodore, Sea Lark and Al-Abdali are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of nine vessels viz CV Nedlloyd Hudson, MV UASC Zam Zam, MV Rana, MV Commodore, MV Sea Lark, Argent Gerbera, Sea Sky and Bow Puma are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement rice, wheat, chemicals, crude oil and edible oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Seven ships namely Al-Salam-II, Analipsi Lady, Tycoon-II, Majestic, Ikaruga, Al-Abdali and CGM Strauss carrying diesel oil, wheat and containers respectively are currently at the outer anchorage. A total number of four vessels viz Al-Abdali, Ikaruga, CGM Strauss and Majestic scheduled to load/offload containers and wheat respectively are expected to take berths at Container Terminal and Multi Purpose Terminal respectively on Wednesday.
