General secretary, Frontier Mine Owners Association (FMOA), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Haji Abdul Jalil has appealed the Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry for taking suo motu notice to probe the alleged financial irregularities in a mega mining project in district Chitral.
Addressing at a news conference, here on Tuesday at Peshawar press club, he said that he had signed agreement with Pakistan Stone Development (PSD) in 2008 to explore of natural substance in rugged areas of district Chitral. Under the terms and condition of the agreement, he said that the company will own 70 percent share, while rest of 30 percent sharing with him, but it didn't get his due share yet, saying that the hiring for the project was also carried out without his consultation.
According to agreement, he said that they had constructed 5-kilometer road including quarters, industrial unit, and equipments with total cost of 110 million with in stipulated period. The exports' Development Fund (EDF) had also given proportion of 160 million to Pakistan Stone Development for the mega project, he explained. He added that the company had hired incompetent and inexperienced officials and other staffs for the project without his consultation. He alleged that the company had initiated work on wrong site to embezzle millions of rupees.
He further said that the company had wrongly evaluated his work with the assistance of non-professional experts, due to which, he had lost billions by depriving from due share. He added that project run without formation of PC-I and management committee. He said that chairman Mine department had informed him via email that the construction work had been initiated and speed up exploration at the site.
Despite production of five different stone materials, he said that the chairman had disowned the agreement, saying they had lost due to negligence of officials of the department concerned. He appealed President Asif Ali Zardari, Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry, and Acting Chairman Chief National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Javeed Kazi to conduct impartial probe into massive level embezzlement in a mega mining project and take into task the indulged officials.
