At least six persons including a woman were killed in separate incidents of violence in various parts of the metropolis here on Monday. According to details, a man was shot dead while his brother was injured at Paper Market in the limits of Kharadar police station.
An armed man namely Hanif alias Kasoo reached at 'Qasim Oil Shop' located at Paper Market Kharadar and opened indiscriminate gunshots. Resultantly, a 30-year-old Ejaz son of Mohammad Qasim died on the spot, while his brother 58-year-old Noor Mohammad received bullets wounds.
Having information, police rushed to the spot and claimed to have arrested the culprit and recovered murder weapon from his possessions. The dead body of Mohammad Qasim and his injured brother Noor Mohammad were shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) for medico legal formalities and treatment. Police said the accused had no conflict with the victim but he was mentally-disturbed person.
A bullet-riddled body of youth was found from Jalbani Goth in the limits of Khokhrapar police station. The identity of victim was yet to be ascertained, while police found his body in the bushes at Jalbani Goth Malir area. The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for post-mortem. Police said the victim, who had several torture marks, was received by four bullets. Later the body was moved to Edhi Morgue for identification.
Yet another body of young man was found in a van at Malir Bridge in the remits of Shah Latif police station. The identity of victim was yet to be ascertained, while police found his body in a van (KD-3312) from Malir Bridge Bin Qasim Town. Police said the victim, whose hand and legs were roped, received seven bullets and added that the body was shifted to JPMC. A drugged man pulverised his 35-year old wife to death by hammer in the limits of Saudabad police station.
The incident took place at G-Area Saudabad where the culprit Sultan killed his wife Mehraj Jahan by hammer and then surrendered himself with murder weapon in a police station. Police said the accused Sultan, who was a drugged man and a cabby by profession, pulverised his wife with hammer over suspicious of her illicit relations. He said the victim was the mother of five.
One more bullet-riddled body was found from Maripur Road in the jurisdiction of Kalri police station. The identity of victim was yet to be ascertained. Police said that unidentified culprits threw this body near Dua petrol pump Maripur Road.
Later police moved the body to Edhi Morgue for identification. A security guard was killed by armed bike snatchers in the limits of Defence police station. The incident took place at Defence phase I where armed men, who were busy in snatching bike from Sadiq shot dead Muhammad Yawar son of Ghulam Hassan on resistance to avert the bike snatching bid. After committing the crime, the culprits managed to flee with snatched bike. Police said the victim, who hailed from Faisalabad, was security guard in a private bank. Police registered a case against unknown culprits on the complaint of Sadiq and initiated probe in this connection.
