Commodities' prices fluctuate moderately globally, on domestic market as well
Modest fluctuations were marked on the commodities wholesale market. The price globally being seen, except gold, continues to surge during the week ended on April 23, 2011. Minor changes were marked on the commodity markets on Monday where Irri-rice 6 Sindh low type rose by Rs 6 to Rs 3310, while the other variety was higher by Rs 30 to Rs 3400.
Cottonseed cakes low type Sindh with bag up by Rs 30 to Rs 1370, while better type was up Rs 10 to Rs 1400. Wheat with old bardana was quoted at Rs 2350 and new type quoted at Rs 2365.
On Jodia Bazaar milk powder skimmed (per bag of 25-kg) Irish skimmed was quoted at Rs 8500, while Haleeb SMP was quoted at Rs 6500, Vegetable euro gold moved higher by Rs 400 to Rs 9200, Mix Me rose by Rs 500 to Rs 9000, Baile gold up Rs 400 to Rs 9200 and Bale Vale quoted at Rs 9200.
On Tuesday thin trading was marked as wheat with bardana old was quoted at Rs 2350, while the new quality was registered at Rs 2365. Irri 6-Sindh low type rose by Rs 10 to Rs 3310 and the other quality was higher by Rs 30 to Rs 3400. Cottonseed cakes with bag in Sindh low type rose by Rs 30 to Rs 1370, while better type gained Rs 10 to Rs 1400.
On Wednesday gur gained sharply by Rs 200 to Rs 5400-6400. Irri 6 Sindh low type rose by Rs 15 to Rs 3325, while the other type stayed put at previous level, wheat with bardana old lost Rs 10 to Rs 2350, while better type shed same amount to Rs 2365. Rapeseed Nawabshah and Mirpur shed Rs 50 to Rs 2100 and Rs 2150, rapeseed Dadulane lost Rs 100 to Rs 1900 and Rs 1950, rapeseed cakes lost Rs 10 to Rs 870 and Rs 880. Cottonseed oilcakes Sindh with bag lost Rs 15 to Rs 1325, while the other type sustained overnight level at Rs 1380.
On Jodia Bazaar Kirana items (per 40-kg) black pepper from Singapore conceded Rs 200 to Rs 19600, mace finished higher by Rs 8000 to Rs 10,200, nutmeg up Rs 2000 to Rs 32000, big cardamom rose by Rs 5000 to Rs 90,000 cloves lost Rs 1000 to Rs 28000, klongee ended lower by Rs 350 to Rs 9300, star aniseed lost Rs 200 to Rs 14,800, chilies dandicut ended lower Rs 100 to Rs 800, darchini rose by Rs 400 to Rs 7200 and turmeric Pak up Rs 500 to Rs 11,500.
On Thursday gur stayed put at Rs 6200, Irri white (broken) low type maintained at Rs 2800, while the better type was higher by Rs 75 to Rs 2900. Cottonseed oilcake, Sindh with bag low type lost Rs 50 to Rs 1320, while the other variety was unchanged at Rs 1380.
On Friday no change was seen on the wholesale grain and seed market as almost all participants were busy in preparations for Juma prayers.
On Jodia Bazaar Ceylon raw rubber closed higher. The variations were : CEYLON RAW RUBBER (Per lb): Merryrub (Equivalent to RSS3) went up by Rs 4 to Rs 235, RSSV moved upward by Rs 5 to Rs 240 and Pale Crape TPC3 was quoted at Rs 230. LATEX: Merrytax (28 kg) was quoted at Rs 1,450 and Thai (GT) was also quoted at Rs 1,450.
On Saturday many variations were seen as buyers were active in covering the short positions. On the grams side guwar Sindh low type was up by Rs 160 to Rs 4700 and better type was higher by Rs 20 to Rs 4800, guwar Punjab gained Rs 100 to Rs 4600-4700. Gram Australia low type shed Rs 100 to Rs 4500 and good type shed Rs 50 to Rs 4750, gram dal Australia fell by Rs 300 to 5000-5200, grams 50x50 low quality retained its overnight level at Rs 4800 and good type was higher by Rs 100 to Rs 5100, yellow peas Ukraine low type shed Rs 80 to Rs 3570 and best quality followed the same path, losing Rs 125 to Rs 3725, yellow peas dal Ukraine lost Rs 100 to Rs 3675-4075. Bajra inferior type was inert at Rs 2500 and good type was lower by Rs 100 to 2900. On the cereal side gur picked up Rs 100 to Rs 5500-6300, Juwar after maintaining a stable trend for several weeks, was quoted higher at Rs 2425, wheat old Bardan and wheat new Bardan slipped by Rs 10 to Rs 2360 and 2375, respectively, other items remained unchanged mainly because of balanced demand and supply factor. On the rice sector Irri-6 Sindh low type rose by Rs 15 to Rs 3340, while the best type retained the overnight level at Rs 3400. On the seeds side cottonseeds oilcake with bag Sindh low type was up by Rs 5 to Rs 1325, while the good type did not show any change at Rs 1380 and cake low type lost Rs 200 to Rs 3300 and better type shed Rs 100 to Rs 3700.

LDPE: 374 finished lower by 50-paisa to Rs 94.50, MG 20 went down by Re 1 to Rs 104 and MG 70 moved upward by Rs 5 to Rs 105. LLDPE: W118 finished lower by Rs 1.25 to Rs 75 and 7087 went down by Re 1 to Rs 75. POLYPROPYLENE (FILM): Thai closed higher by Rs 10 to Rs 98, Kuwait finished up by Rs 10 to Rs 98 and India went lower by Rs 2 to Rs 98. POLYPROPYLENE (TAPE GRADE): India closed down by Rs 1.75 to Rs 89, Kuwait was quoted at Rs 89 and Saudia moved downward by Rs 1.75 to Rs 89. POLYPROPYLENE (INJECTION GRADE): Saudia went down by Re 1 to Rs 91, India closed lower by Re 1 to Rs 91 and Kuwait was quoted at Rs 91. POLYSTYRENE: Pakistani was quoted Rs 4,760. COPOLY: Block moved downward by Rs 2 to Rs 93 and Randon closed upward by Rs 3 to Rs 99. HIGH IMPACT (Per bag): Pakistani was quoted at Rs 5,200. ABS: Polylac 707 finished lower by Rs 100 to Rs 7,200 and Iran went down by Rs 100 to Rs 7,100.
